From leaving school in 1972 I did a 4 year indentured electrical apprentice with the National Coal Board, working on telephones, computer controlled systems through to 20KV distribution, joining Parmley Graham Ltd in 1979 at Gateshead as Inside Sales Engineer selling specialist Motor Control gear, including Drives and PLC’s, later at Menston and Hayes.In 1986 I joined Phoenix Contact as Product Manager for Interbus - Fieldbus systems.In 1994 WAGO as an Area Manager - South West progressing to Automation Manager.I also sit on DISC/BSI/AMT7 on Fieldbus Systems and Deputy Chairman of PROFIBUS UK.

My interest in electrical engineering all started with a micro switch that my Dad gave me. I was curious and immediately looked for somewhere I could use it…A few hours later my EverReady rear bike lights had become brake lights and I was my enthusiasm for wiring things up was established. I joined GEC in Rugby as a Technician apprentice then moved on to MCCs, inverter drives and GEM 80 PLCs as a Test Technician.After working for Schneider Electric in many roles including application engineer and product manager, I am delighted to have joined WAGO as Product Manager – Industrial Automation
